Glavkosmos presented the capabilities of the Russian space industry at the G20 SELM summit in Brazil

Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil), September 12. - The fifth G20 Space Economy Leaders Meeting (SELM) started in Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) on Wednesday. SELM is an international forum that brings together representatives of the G20 member states to discuss and promote the development of the space economy.

The Russian Federation is represented by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Federative Republic of Brazil and a delegation of JSC Glavkosmos (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) led by Director General Ilya Tarasenko.

This year's Meeting is dedicated to the topic "Space Economy and Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities." This is a unique opportunity to strengthen global cooperation on such important topics as technological innovation, space sustainability, and the peaceful use of space.

The main objective is to facilitate dialogue between space industry leaders, governments and international organizations on key issues related to the space economy and climate; to promote strategic partnerships and cooperation between countries and organizations to ensure sustainable development and innovation in the space economy; and to share best practices, lessons learned and success stories in the application of space technologies to address climate challenges.

The three-day event will feature expert sessions and roundtables, as well as four discussion panels on the topics of climate change and sustainable development; space economy and climate change mitigation; space initiatives; and interaction with industry.

The summit will also feature scheduled bilateral meetings with the main partners of the Russian Federation in the space industry.

The opening ceremony was attended by delegations from the G20 space agencies, international guests, state and municipal authorities, representatives of the aerospace industry and their partners.
