Glavkosmos to present the achievements of the Russian space industry at an exhibition in Saudi Arabia
MOSCOW, February 2. - Glavkosmos JSC (part of Roscosmos) will present products and services of the Russian space industry enterprises at the World Defense Show 2024, which will be held in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from February 4 to 8. Glavkosmos is a co-exhibitor of Roscosmos.
The company will present the products of Roscosmos enterprises and its own services in an interactive form: the LET'S GO TO SPACE touchpad allows people to learn more about the Russian cosmodromes and launch vehicles used for launch services. The touchpad, among other things, demonstrates the Russian satellite platforms that are offered to customers today, and informs about the capacities of the Russian satellite constellation of Earth observation. At the venue, the forum visitors will be able to see a 3D model of the International Space Station (ISS) and its Russian segment (RS).
Glavkosmos will offer mobile applications with augmented reality (AR) technology to the visitors of the exhibition: one app allows you to see the stages of a crewed space flight from the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome to the docking of the Soyuz-MS spacecraft with the ISS and the return of the descent module to Earth; the other app demonstrates the operation of the Fregat upper stage in orbit.
The Sokol-KV-2 rescue spacesuit, which cosmonauts use during takeoff, landing, docking and undocking of the spacecraft, will be another showpiece at the exposition. This spacesuit was used in the filming of project The Challenge, which resulted in the first ever full-length feature film shot in space and a series of scientific and educational documentaries.
The World Defense Show is held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and is organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
